The first technique we will be discussing here is massage therapy. While most people think of a massage as a great way to relax sore tired muscles you must know it’s also good for reducing tension and anxiety and stress too. It’s been proven by many studies that getting regular massages is one of the best ways to reduce stress levels. With the variety of massage types out there we’re sure you can find one that is best for you. It’s relatively easy to find qualified massage therapists. Massage can release endorphins in the brain which produce pleasure which is helpful in not only stress reduction but also helpful for emotional issues such as anxiety and depression to name a few.

When you learn how to manage your time, you’ll find that you’re also managing stress. When you feel like you lack time, you almost always experience stress, so these two factors are closely linked. If you tend to focus on the big picture when it comes to a particular difficult project, you’ll find it’s less stressful if you can divide it into several smaller ones that you can handle one at a time. It’s fine to set daily goals to help you focus, but make them possible and realistic so you don’t feel frustrated about not doing what you set out to do. Trying to multitask too much can cause stress and it also makes you less efficient at all the different things you’re trying to do at the same time. It’s hard to efficiently manage your time if you let every phone call, email or text message distract you, so only respond to these when you’re not busy with an important task. You will experience far less stress when you use your time more effectively.

Res is important too. Most of us can admit to being sleep deprived and thus more stressed out, tired and run down. Make sure you adjust your activities for a healthy bed time to ensure enough rest. Think about how much time you are wasting watching TV or playing computer or video games if you don’t think you can grab more hours to sleep. If you can’t go to bed earlier or wake up later, try to fit in a half hour nap in the middle of the day. If you have insomnia it may be time to talk to your doctor to help find a solution. Sleep is not only essential to good health it’s imperative for stress management since your body and mind are at their best when well rested.

When you need to reduce stress, then, you have many possible ways to accomplish this. The above suggestions can get you started, and you may have your own favorite techniques as well. Nothing is more important than managing stress, as it’s not good for either your health or sense of well being. Stress can be caused by any number of things, and sometimes you can reduce it by addressing the underlying issue, but other times you simply have to adjust your reactions to circumstances..
